Mrs Netsu (a Japanese teacher) came in on Tuesday 7th February to teach us about Japan and it’s culture.
In the first part of the lesson we learnt about life near a volcano and the hot springs. We asked questions about this and discussed why the springs or ‘onsen’ as called in Japanese, were hot.
After break we talked about writing letters. We then got our names written in Japanese and made some posters with our names on.
Below is the comment received from the Japanese teacher about Year 5:
‘Thank you very much for having me today. I was very lucky to see your lovely, keen and vigorous children. They are fantastic! I enjoyed working with them so much and I liked all their questions. I was surprised how keen they were on writing. I should have brought more writing materials.
Thank you again for everything.
Please pass my warmest gratitude on to your lovely children’.
