Year 6 trip to Oxford Natural History Museum and Pitt Rivers Museum
On Thursday 11th of January, Year 6 took an exciting trip to the Oxford Natural History to help with their science topic of evolution. We also visited the Pitt Rivers museum to provide inspiration for a piece of artwork.
Firstly, Year 6 had an interesting talk with one of the universities professors: showing us the chain of evolution, we even got to touch and feel some of the artefacts! Did you know that Steve Backshall is a huge fan of the museum? Through a specially programmed iPad, he toured us on a fun trip through it.
After lunch, we began our Pitt Rivers experience on the top floor looking down on everything, we got to choose something we liked the best and draw it! We made our way down eventually to the bottom and had a thorough search for the final thing to draw. There were so many interesting objects that it was almost impossible to decide upon something!
The trip was an amazing experience, and on behalf of all of Year 6 we would like to thank all the teachers and parents that made it possible.
