School uniform
We see the wearing of our uniform as something to be proud of and as a statement of our work and life together as members of the school.
We aim as a school to produce a safe environment where everyone can learn and play in safety. Because of this, we have a policy about what additional jewellery, footwear and clothing for PE can be worn.
We expect pupils to wear school uniform. Parents can purchase school-specific items such as ties, T-shirts and jumpers with logos, etc from the School Shop, Beaconsfield New Town. Non-specific clothing such as trousers and shirts may be bought from any shop selling children’s school uniform.
All items of uniform must be labelled with the child’s name.

· White socks
· Plimsolls
For outdoors:

· Black jogging bottoms

Jewellery
In general, we do not permit jewellery to be worn at school because there is a Health and Safety risk to the child wearing it and to others. We will allow small stud earrings and a small watch.
We recognise that jewellery or clothing may have a religious significance. In this case they will be allowed, at the discretion of the Headteacher, but must be removed for PE. Parents must first make a request to the Head in writing.
For PE
· Religious bracelets should be covered by a towelling sweatband
· Religious headdresses may be worn but in maroon or black, and must be removed for PE
· Watches must be removed
· Stud earrings must be taped over (parent to supply tape)
We encourage parents and carers to support in this policy to protect the health and safety of all our children and so that precious jewellery is not brought to school.
