Today (Thursday 8th June), we have been learning about the UK General Elections. We had our own vote, we had to read the manifesto's and choose who to vote for, write this on a ballot slip and put this in the ballot box. Mrs Perryman then counted the votes and had Miss Nash check the votes to make sure it was a fair vote. When all the votes were counted Conservatives won by the votes. We were then asked to write a letter to Miss Nash explaining why they should vote for our choice of party, more of the class encouraged Miss Nash to vote for Labour! Tia
On the 8th of June we were learning about the UK's general election. This is what we have been doing: We have been persuading people to vote for our choice of party, I chose Labour because I read the manifesto and the manifesto convinced me because Jeremy Corbyn wants to give 8 billion pounds to social care and had lots of other ideas that I agreed with.
There were lots of others who chose labour too:
Labour had 10 votes and 12 persuasive letters
Conservatives had 11 votes and 8 persuasive letters
Liberal democrats had 1 vote and 1 persuasive letter
Green Party had 3 votes and 4 persuasive letters
UKIP had 1 vote and 1 persuasive letter
Those were our results!
I think the general election was very interesting and fun to learn about! Jaydev
