Dear Year 2,
Happy New Year! I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas holiday. Thank you very much for all the lovely cards and gifts you gave me for Christmas.
I am so sorry to hear that sadly we will not be starting this term learning together in school. I was really looking forward to seeing all your smiley faces and hearing all your exciting news. Your work is ready and waiting for you, the date is even written on our whiteboard! I cannot wait until we are all back together in the classroom!
For now, our learning will take place remotely. Please remember I am always available to help you if you have any questions and talk to you if you have any worries.
To get you started with your home learning, I have uploaded a comprehension called ‘Happy New Year’ for you to read and answer the questions. Please choose the level that best suits your reading. Once you have done the comprehension, I would like you to think about your own New Year’s Resolutions. I have decided that I am going to send letters to friends and family that I am missing, try to do some exercise every day and cook a new recipe each week!
There is a Maths booklet for you to work through at your own pace. We are going to be learning about animals and their habitats this half term. Please create a front cover for your project.
Remember to keep smiling, be happy and hopefully we will all be back together soon.
