OUR TRIP TO ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL BY NIAMH AND GEORGE – YEAR 2
Yesterday we went to St Paul’s Cathedral. The coach trip took a long time in the traffic. We saw lots of sights on the way, the lions at Trafalgar Square were very big.
First we ate our lunch. Then we went to the Cathedral. It was huge and very beautiful. On the outside it had lots of statues on the walls.
We met a kind lady called Donna who showed us where to put our things. Donna told us that the Cathedral was the 5th one built and the 4th one burnt in the Great Fire of London.
There were lots of golden pictures on the very high ceiling.
We went all the way up to the Whispering Gallery. It’s called this because if you whisper you can hear it from the other side of the building.
We saw lots of black statues that were from the Fire of London, they had been damaged from the intense heat of the flames and parts of the statues exploded.
It was a really good trip and we enjoyed it very much.
