On Thursday 28th March year 4 went to the Tower of London. We had a fantastic day and the weather was glorious. We walked along the River Thames and admired some wonderful London sights before we entered the Tower. The children had two history sessions lead by experts in Tudor clothes. They told us amazing stories about people who had lived and had been imprisoned within the Tower. They visited the execution sites and heard about some very interesting escape attempts from the Tower. During our session the children were able to handle and try some Tudor armour. They even acted out a Tudor jousting competition. We climbed 214 steps to the top of the White Tower. This amazing opportunity was the perfect ending to our Tudor topic and has made a huge impact on our learning.
