Our curriculum is play-based, exciting and full of opportunities for children to explore, discover, and develop essential skills for life. We believe children learn best when they are engaged, curious, and having fun.

We follow the 7 Areas of Learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage. These are Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Maths, Literacy, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. Using the Characteristics of Effective Learning, we encourage children to play and explore, think creatively and keep trying when challenges arise.

Our carefully planned topic cycles spark children's interests and introduce new ideas through hands-on experiences, stories and real-life learning. We adapt our planning to reflect children's interests and next steps, ensuring learning is meaningful and motivating. To make learning even more exciting, we welcome special visitors who enrich our topics and provide memorable experiences. We also celebrate a variety of special events throughout the year, including World Book Day, Science Week and Black History Month.

Children take part in regular PE sessions at school, helping them to develop physical skills, coordination, teamwork and confidence, while becoming familiar with the school environment.

The Pre-School supports early communication and literacy through our pre-phonics programme, with a strong focus on environmental sounds, listening and early phonics, helping children build strong foundations for reading and writing. We also follow White Rose Maths, providing engaging practical maths experiences that help children develop confidence in numbers, counting, shapes, patterns and problem-solving.

Our curriculum includes exciting enrichment opportunities such as our cooking club, where children learn practical life skills, explore new foods, and follow simple instructions. Children also enjoy our Nature Club, where they explore the outdoors , learn about the natural world and develop a love for the environment.

We recognise that children develop at different stages, so we provide different goals and adapt our learning experiences for our two-year-old and pre-school children, ensuring the curriculum is appropriate for all children, and they are supported and challenged appropriately.
