Special Educational Needs

At Holtspur School, inclusion is our way of life - it shapes everything we do so pupils with SEND are supported, challenged and valued as part of our caring, inspiring community.

We are proud to have an Additional Resource Provision for children with Developmental Language Disorder. These children and their teachers are well-supported by our Speech & Language Therapist, Mrs Edwina Tyler. Our provision is well integrated into the mainstream and all pupils with SEND feel a real sense of belonging at Holtspur.

At Holtspur, we provide quality first teaching for all pupils. Our staff team are well-trained and we offer a low-arousal learning environment. A wide range of impactful interventions are delivered by our Teaching Assistants and HLTAs where needed.

97% of parents feel the school has an inclusive and welcoming culture (annual parent survey 2026).

Individual Support Plans

Every child on the SEND register at Holtspur School, has an individual support plan. The support plan outlines barriers to learning, day-to-day provision in place, any reasonable adjustments and intended outcomes. These plans are shared with parents so we can foster a collaborative approach ensuring that both school and home environments are aligned in supporting the pupil’s needs.

Our Inclusion Lead is Mrs L Chapman. To contact her, please email the school office.
