Our funding helps with ...

PTA Fundraising goals

Your PTA are busy organising events and raising money in lots of different ways to help the school to provide that little bit extra for our children. We are pleased to let you know that we are currently working on three important projects which will help in the way our children are taught and also improve the environment they are in on a daily basis

The Nest Garden

This is creating a learning garden where classes will be able to plant, grow and then harvest fruits and vegetables. Each year group will grow a different crop, so the children will gain lots of practical skills as they go up through the school. There will also be bug hotels and "composting" tubes so the children can see how long it takes for natural and man-made items to break down in the soil.

This area will be developed over the next few months and we hope to have this ready for the children to use by early Spring. The total cost for this project is £13,000

School Dining Room Kitchen

All of the children use the dining room every day. The kitchen area is in urgent need of an overhaul as the cupboards are starting to fall apart! We intend to improve the facilities, creating a modern, bright, and clean space and making it a nicer environment for lunch times and for our catering team to work in. The expected cost for this project is £5,000

Reception Courtyard / Play Area

All of our children have benefitted from this fantastic space over the years and it is now in need of a full make over. We have plans in place to turn this into a haven of playful learning fun, with Water stations, mud kitchens, artificial grass race track, and a stage and play house. More information to follow.

Thank you for your support so far this term. Our next event is the Christmas Fair on Sunday 25 November. We hope to see lots of you there as we continue to raise funds for these fantastic projects.

There are all sorts of other ways to support us too - we are signed up with EasyFundraising (https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk) for online shopping and the Chiltern & South Bucks Lottery (https://www.chilternsouthbuckslottery.co.uk/), and we love to promote local businesses in return for PTA Sponsorship.

If you have any questions or would like more information on the PTA, please get in touch with your Class Rep or a PTA Committee member in the playground or via Classlist.

** A BIG THANK YOU **

Thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA over the last year, we hope you have had fun participating in the events and raising lots of money for our kids.

We are delighted to have raised enough over the past 12 months to give the school over £12,000 to invest in an array of amazing playground equipment, which will be used by our children on a daily basis (things such as creative drawing trail, games tables, permanent goals and netball posts, den building equipment, music instruments, staging for role-play etc).

A big thank you goes to Mrs Meyer and the school council who have worked so hard on this project to bring life back into the playground and understand what children need from the area of play both for development and community.

We don’t want to spoil the surprise so there is a sneak peek image below of some of the exciting and fun items that are on their way and how pleased the children will be to play with these.

With your support, the PTA raised over £17,000 last year and this is how we did it.

Wine Tasting: £1,340

Christmas Fair: £2,650

Christmas Cards: £510

Quiz Night: £1,120

Sponsored Bounce: £2,090

May Fair: £3,550

Movie Night: £1,370

Fun Food Fridays: £700

Donations/Grants: £4,000 (£3,000 last year, £1,000 this year)

Football Tournament: £470 (this year)

As you know, we continue to support the school and provide the extras that our children need so we are now working hard to raise about £15,000 for new PCs in the ICT suite. We know this is within our reach and we look forward to working with you to create further fun events and lasting memories over the coming year.

So far we have raised......and we're spending this year!

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to the school this term.
There are so many ways in which we all support our kids, be they through volunteering, or just by buying the odd cake.
We thought you would like to see what we have raised as a PTA this year:

June 2016 ... The grand total so far is just over £16,500!

A huge thank you for all your support!

Spring/Summer term events have raised:

Quiz Night: £1000

Sponsered Bounce & Bike Ride: £2000

May Fair: £3000

Photo Shoots: £360

Fun Food Friday/Ice Lolly Thursday: £200

Grants (Shanly, One-Stop, Beaconsfield Old Church School): £3000

The money has allowed us to give each year group a themed experience day or visit. We have spent £1000 on new chairs for the IT Suite and are saving to invest in new PCs. We are funding the playground revamp and contributing to kit for the new pre-school site.

December 2016 ...The grand total so far is just over £5,000!
Well done and thank you for all of your support.
Please don’t forget to use the school’s affiliate links when shopping online.
With the money raised so far, we have paid for the children in Year 3 to have a Roman Day, and for Year 6 to have a WW2 themed day.
We have also funded gifts for the pre-school, Reception and KS1 children.
Overall spending this term has totalled just over £1,000 and there are lots of plans afoot for the coming months.
We had a very good meeting last night. Mrs Meyer talked about new exciting plans for the playground including arts and craft area, role play area, climbing wall, musical instrument -watch this space for more details.
We also discussed two new events for the rest of the year - a in-school sponsored bikeathon and skipathon for the kids and a family fun night on the 8th July (5-9) - film night for the kids and BBQ, Beers (and possibly Band) for the adults.
