Penny from Beaconsfield Library came into assembly this morning to explain to the children about the summer reading challenge. The aim is to read 6 books over the summer from the library.

This year’s theme is The Beano. Children will receive a pack with a treasure map and choose a character. Once they have read two books, they receive stickers for their chart giving them clues to where to find the treasure. After their 4^th book, they receive more sticker clues and glasses . Once they have read their 6^th book they will receive a certificate and medal. In the Autumn term we will have an assembly for those children who managed the reading challenge. Penny also told us about other free events at the library to sign up for – including lego club, a talk about photography tips and hints and a dinosaur expert giving a talk! We hope as many of our children as possible can join this challenge – there was certainly a big buzz about it in assembly this morning!
