Year 1 had a great school trip to Windsor Castle on Wednesday 20th March. We were so lucky with the weather and the children loved investigating the castle grounds and seeing the soldiers, castle walls, canons and the outside of the Queens private estate. In the morning we were all treated to a fantastic education session all about the Queen. The children dressed up to role play a coronation as well as a dubbing ceremony. They asked some brilliant questions and were really keen to find out more information.
We went inside St George's Chapel and we talked about what happened during the royal wedding and where the Queen sat for the service. They also had an opportunity to go inside the state apartments and loved looking at all of the elaborate decorations and art work.
The children had such a wonderful time and were very polite to all of the wardens around the castle. Well done Year 1!! Mrs Orchard.
