• The Summer Challenge is Here!

  Your can find this summers challenge grids under Learning/Summer Challenge - go to our website from the app to view. How many activities can you help your child achieve during the 6 weeks. Tick off the activities as you do them and hand in to the class teacher in September for a certificate. You don’t need to complete them all and if you create any of your own activities we would love to hear about them. Please share pictures for our website!

   

   

  

• Sports Day ...

  We have our KS1 (Monday) and KS2 (Wednesday) sports days and I know the children have been preparing to do their very best for their house teams so two exciting mornings of competition will be had. Children should come to school in their PE kit and coloured t-shirt on the morning of their events, ready to compete, and it would be advisable if they can bring an extra drink in to rehydrate after all their efforts, please see Mr Tagg’s letter regarding the application of sun cream & ensure your child brings a hat to wear. 

   

     

  

• Half Term Writing Challenge

  Please find below Holtspurs Half term Writing challenge!

  Can you help your children complete as many of the activities as they can. The teachers would love to see their writing so please take pictures on send it in after the break.

  We would like to be able to share their writing on the website, twitter and on display in the school library. A certificate will be awarded to all children who take part!

• Books, books and more books!!

  A HUGE THANK YOU!

  We are now in receipt of our second delivery of three from Usbourne Books paid for by the money raised through the sponsored read :-)  
  We received dictionaries, maths dictionaries, science dictionaries, french dictionaries end encyclopaedias for every class as well as fiction and non fiction books for the library. We are so excited for the children to be able to access such amazing resources ...

  Happy Easter Holidays! Please have a look at the Easter Reading Challenge. This time its a game of Bingo with books, there are two versions for you to try. Can you get four in a row or even a full house. We would love to see some pictures for the reading page on our website and remember to bring your completed sheet into school for your teachers to tick! Have a wonderful break and remember ...

• Holtspur Half Term Reading Challenge!

  Hello children, Well done to everyone who has been working so hard at home this term completing the weekly challenges as well as your own home learning ideas. We loved seeing the photos you sent in and it was fantastic seeing you on the google meets sharing your learning! For the half term week, we have decided to set a whole school reading challenge! How many reading challenges can you complete? Please send in photos of you completing some of the challenges. Our favourite photos will win a prize! • Well-being session for children

  We wanted to make you aware of a Free online session running this Friday as part of Children's Mental Health Awareness week.  

   

  A 45 minute online session for children to explore their feelings and emotions and learn some ways to manage when they feel overwhelmed.

• Online Learning - Google Classroom

  As from Monday 11th January all home learning will be online using Google Classroom, each child will have their own login and will be prompted to create a new password the first time they login. For the rest of this week learning will be posted on the website Class Pages, however, there may be an introductory message from your teachers on Google Classroom from Thursday onwards so that you can familiarise yourselves before Monday. Your child's login consists of their initial followed by their surname@holtspurschool.co.uk, the initial password for all is Holtspurpupil - you will then set your own password. There are a few children who we will text their username as it is slightly different if they have the same as someone else, this will be sent via TEXT within the next 30minutes. For example if your child is Bart Simpson: Website: https://classroom.google.com/ Username: bsimpson@holtspurschool.co.uk Password: Holtspurpupil If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the office.

• School Closure 5.1.21

  Due to the Government announcement tonight (4.1.21) Holtspur School will be closed on Tuesday 5th January in order for Home Learning to commence on Wednesday 6th January.
