  • Darassa Makeover!

    Tue 18 Jul 2017

A massive THANK YOU to our volunteers from Dun & Bradstreet for their hard work in transforming the Darassa to a bright & airy chill out area for the new school term. We couldn’t of done it without the help and generosity of Homebase, B&Q, Wickes and our lovely Beaconsfield Hardware & Shoe-Be-Do.

    The projects were:
    - To create a chill out & reading zone in the playground for the children to enjoy. This involved painting the old brown Darassa into a bright and cheerful place
    - To paint and restore all the old benches around the school to again provide a brighter environment

Thank you to our PTA for helping to organise this, it really is amazing!

  • Healthy Eating School Food Showdown!

    Fri 30 Jun 2017

On Wednesday this week, the whole school was very lucky to get a visit from Ian, from the Healthy Eating School Food Showdown! Ian came all the way from Manchester to deliver the fantastic show. The theme of the show is to emphasise the importance of having a healthy breakfast to start the day, what it means to have a balanced diet and how to put together a healthy meal.

We then were entertained by a live cook-off to see who could make the best healthy balanced meal with Mr Stone and Mrs Davies leading the way with four enthusiastic Year 6's cooking alongside them. They had 15 minutes to cook, getting the children to come up and see how it was going, ask them questions and even get to taste!

They made some great dishes and the audience got to decide who was the overall winner with.... RED CHILLI'S coming out on top! It was great to see all the children getting involved and answering questions, they all really enjoyed whole show!

  • Chess Club

    Fri 16 Jun 2017

As part of the chess club, we have had four children who qualified for the megafinal. They undertook a series of six games, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on a Sunday playing against some very strong players from schools and clubs across the county. Over 40,000 took part this year with the top 20% reaching the megafinal. Lola, Dhian, Justin and Liam all did exceptionally well showing persistence and resilience through the games and throughout the day. Well done!
